US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Turkey this Monday (6), in his last stopover in the region before heading to Asia.
Blinken is expected to meet with Turkish officials this morning to discuss the war between Israel and Hamas.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been extremely critical of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, calling the actions “crimes against humanity” and saying over the weekend that he was suspending communications with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Turkey also recalled its ambassador to Israel for “consultations”.
Blinken has visited Israel, Jordan, the West Bank, Cyprus and Iraq so far on a whirlwind diplomatic trip.
