“Friends” actor Matthew Perry dies


Actor Matthew Perry, who played the character of Chandler Bing in the hit comedy Friendswas found dead at his home at the age of 54, US media reported on Saturday.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the actor was found dead in the bathtub of his home in Los Angeles.

No evidence has been found that could suggest a criminal act, according to anonymous sources cited by the same newspaper and by the specialist media TMZ, which first announced the death.

Matthew Perry was best known for his humorous role as Chandler Bing in the very popular series Friendsaired on NBC for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004.

The actor had struggled for years with his addiction to painkillers and alcohol, and had attended rehab clinics on several occasions.

During a recent TV appearance, Perry shocked audiences by admitting to suffering from severe anxiety “every night” while filming Friends.

According to TMZ, no drugs were found at the scene of the actor’s death on Saturday.
