The president of Panam Sports, responsible for organizing the Pan American Games, has confirmed the next venue for the competition. Barranquilla, a city in Colombia, will host the event in 2027.
Neven Illic, president of Panam, confirmed the seat during a meeting with the press this Thursday (26).
Barranquilla found itself as the only candidate to host the event. Cochambamba and Santa Cruze de la Sierra, Bolivia, have expressed interest, but the situation has not progressed. Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Bogotá (Colombia) also considered candidacy, but withdrew.
This will be the third consecutive time that the event will take place in South America, with the current edition of Pan taking place in Chile and the previous edition, in 2019, in Lima, Peru. Toronto, Canada, hosted the Games in 2015.
Barranquilla 🇨🇴 is confirmed as the venue for Juegos Panamericano 2027.
