Cristiano Ronaldo received a life-size statue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tribute to CR7 is part of a series of actions aimed at promoting local football. The sculpture will be exhibited in a museum dedicated to football and will bear his name.
Measuring 1.87 meters, exactly the height of the Portuguese star, the statue depicts Cristiano Ronaldo wearing the jersey of his current club, Al-Nassr.
In addition to the artwork, key moments from the player’s career, as well as replicas of the trophies won by the star throughout his career, are on display at one of Riyadh’s main tourist attractions.
At 38 years old, CR7 continues to play at a high level both for club and national team. This week he helped Portugal secure their place at Euro 2024, which will take place in Germany.
CR7 in Saudi Arabia
The Cristiano Ronaldo Museum is part of an agreement between Al-Nassr and the local government to pay tribute to the first great player to agree to play in the country. CR7 is the highest paid athlete in the world. The star receives more than a billion reais per season. He has a contract until June 2025.
This is not the first statue…
In 2017, Cristiano Ronaldo received a bronze bus at the airport on the island of Madeira, Portugal, his hometown.
After much controversy over the appearance of the sculpture, the star asked the sculptor to remove the wrinkles from her face and change the shape of her face.
