Lula celebrates his 78th birthday with congratulations from activists in front of Alvorada

Before his first official appointment at the Palácio do Planalto this Friday (27), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) received congratulations from PT activists on the occasion of his 78th birthday.

Around a hundred activists gathered, from 8 a.m., in front of the Alvorada Palace, the official residence of the presidency, for breakfast. Supporters brought banners and flags with commemorative messages, as well as food and drinks.

Lula arrived at the “park” organized by the Communications Secretariat of the Presidency, around 9:30 a.m.

Still recovering from hip surgery, the president did not get out of the car. Inside, he received a cake through the window, sang happy birthday, greeted people and headed towards the Palácio do Planalto. The meeting lasted about five minutes.
