In addition to the Formula 1 stars, the São Paulo GP had another illustrious presence: the singer Ludmilla. The Brazilian was chosen to sing the national anthem before the start of the race. At the time of the presentation, he received a special “visit”: that of the British driver Lewis Hamilton.
For the moment, Hamilton was behind a Brazilian flag. Noticing that Ludmilla was getting ready for the show, the pilot made a point of running towards the singer to greet her with a hug.
How the São Paulo Formula 1 GP went
Despite the chaos at the start, it was an absolutely peaceful São Paulo Formula 1 GP for Max Verstappen. This Sunday (5), at Interlagos, the Red Bull driver — who started in pole position — was not threatened at any time and crossed the finish line of the São Paulo circuit in first place.
At the start of the race, still on the presentation lap, Charles Leclerc had a hydraulic problem and spun: the Ferrari driver had to retire. At the start, Alex Albon and Kevin Magnussen got tangled, crashed, forced a red flag and also had to abandon the race.
Plus, it was a terrible race for Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell experienced problems throughout the race and, little by little, they returned to the peloton. The seven-time champion is only eighth, while the Englishman retires.
Formula 1 returns in two weeks, from November 16 to 18, in the United States, with the Las Vegas GP. The next stage will be the 22nd and penultimate of the already decided 2023 season.
